About Field Recorders
Field Recorders are professional audio recording devices which can be used to record sounds and noises “in the open”, i.e. outdoors or in the field. Compared to our Handy Recorders, the F1-LP and F2-SP Field Recorders, F2 and F2-BT Field Recorders, F3 Field Recorders, F6 Field Recorders and F8n Pro Field Recorders offer some important additional features for professional sound engineers on film sets or for TV or radio use, which are indispensable for the professional sound engineer. This includes the possibility to synchronise the recorder via timecode (except F1), redundant power supply and redundant recording of audio data, remote control via hardware remote (only F6 and F8n Pro) or via app, as well as state-of-the-art technology such as dual A/D converters and 32-bit float recording (except F1), which makes clipped recordings a thing of the past. The F-Series Field Recorders are designed for use with external microphones and therefore do not have built-in microphones like our Handy Recorders. Field Recorders are therefore especially robust and suitable for professional, occupational use where they are exposed to daily stresses and strains.
